MashUp Monday # 4 : Mansions on the Moon - Satellite feat. Deadmau5

I must preface by blatantly name dropping the individual who sent me this track. So all credit of finding the song goes to him, however all credit for exposing it goes to me.

Daniel Eleanor Mackwood, thank you.

Mansions on the Moon is comprised off NERD, Diplo, Benzi, Lane Shaw (just to name a few) whom have managed to create a mixtapes that broads an equally impressive genre listing. Full album and tour are anticipated to drop in the early 2011, keep your ears open for that.

Funk Friday : Duck Sauce - Goody Two Shoes ( Louis Laroche ) Edit

Holy shit kiddies, today is an amazing day. I suggest grabbing a new pair of boxers and a towel because this one is a phenom. Duck sauce drops a new track that has been edited by Louis La-motherfucking-roche. This is the sexual equivalent have getting head from the cute hipster chick from your sociology class while her; sexy, french, foreign exchange roommate talks dirty in your ear.
Goody Two Shoes has the classic Duck Sauce builds, breaks, and funky-ass disco lyrics, this track is up there with aNYway.

Oh and, you're welcome.

Hip-Hop Hump Day : Jay Electronica - I Feel Good & Eternal Sunshine

This week has been a big week in hip-hop. Jay Electronica has officially signed to Roc Nation (Jay-Z's record label). Jay has been around since early 04', but much like his flow he has just been chillin'. No official albums, no official radio-play, just tracks sporadically left along the way.

Jay posses the ability to spit harder than most fluffers do after a long days work, and when that is combined with his poignant lyricism it manifests in music that should be reveled in. This is hip-hop that should be listened to, not heard.

MashUp Monday # 3 : austin eterno - I Remember Shelter ( Deadmau5 & The XX )

What's going on everybody,

Today's Mash-up is from relative new-comer, Austin Eterno, who combines Deadmaufive with The XX. The soft spoken vocals from Romy Madley Croft blends so well with the atmospheric trance of Deamaufive's - I Remember. The song manges to transport you to a place of utter ease. So tonight's to-do list is as follows;  put the headphones on,
turn up the volume,
press repeat
and just chill.

Beast of the weeK : Breakbot - What's Up Feat. Fatlip & Delicious Vinyl

This song has been on repeat since I first heard it. I love anything breakbot touches ( actually have him on special ordered vinyl ), and anything 90's Hip-Hop, so this became an instant favorite.

Fatlip ( former member of pharcyde ) manages to drop some lines that are pretty personal, but it doesn't take away from how relaxing the track is.
When he is combined with Breakbot's simple underlying piano which is almost reminiscent of the taxi theme song, it results in absolute banger. This is perfect for just chilling, or a word I will soon run dry - Coolin'.

MashUp Monday # 2 : Slaptop - Forgot About Dre Vs Pro Nails ( Dr. Dre & Rusko )

Evening kiddies, today's track comes from up and comer mash duo "Slaptop". Whom have combined Dr. Dre's - Forgot About Dre & Rusko's - Pro Nails.

You really can't go wrong when you use Dre's - Forgot About Dre, even when if it is mixed with dubstep. So this is dedicating to everyone in and from T-Dot.

This Bay-Area Duo have a lot of talent, and have managed to drop 2 albums already. With some more practice and refinement, they will be dropping beats that would make Rodney King jealous.

Beast of the weeK : Coke&Cake - Chocolate Talk

Let me preface by saying, I have a massive guilty pleasure for Nu-disco and obscurity, and when they are combined it results in the ultimate soft-jazz (not the Miles Davis type). However, this track which is composed by Technicolor and FMryan, possess licks so dirty it would make porn-stars nervous.

The debut song by Coke&cake - Chocolate Talk, has a sultry vocal sample overlaid, a funky guitar riff and a filthy bass creating an epitome of Nu-Disco. Unimaginable as it is, Coke&Cake have managed to create a track that rivals Ducksauce.

Watch out for these kids.

MashUp Monday # 1 : White Panda - What You Know About Little Secrets ( T.I. Vs Passion Pit )

White Panda, once again, kill it. They manage to sample the most infectious riff from Passion Pits - Little secrets and combine it with the zealous flow of T.I., making for a banger. These guys definitely challenge Super Mash Bros. for the crown of best mash artist. It will have your head bobbin' like a prom date in the backseat of her mom's Volvo, only this song has less teeth.

During last summer this was on constant loop through every speaker I possessed, whether it was bedroom or car and momentarily took the #1 most played song on my Ipod. And in due time, I promise it will do the same. Now go out, get a prom date, her mom's Volvo and jam this tune.
